When I began my own household, my father sent me from his home with a rich inheritance of thousands of books that he had given to me over more than two decades. Many of those books were personally inscribed to me by him with a special message or reminder, and each one remains precious to me today.
Dad’s vision was to share his own literary passion and love of reading and learning with his children, and his vision inspired a similar vision in my own life. Even before I was married, I began to collect books that I hoped to one day give my children. Early in our marriage, Beall and I purposed to take this godly vision to the next level by seeking out quality libraries for each of our children which we would incorporate into their home education and pass on to them as an inheritance. Since then, the Lord has been gracious in allowing us to compile a number of really great “multi-generational” collections which I hope to give someday to each of my eight children.
