Dear Doug,
I wanted to thank you again for coming to the GHEA conference this weekend and being such a blessing to the homeschoolers of Georgia. We have come to understand that family-worship is a huge part of not only the foundation of a Christian home but of a Christian homeschool education as well. Unfortunately we have been sporadically faithful in establishing a formal family worship for years.
This weekend I saw ‘The Family Worship Book’ by Terry L. Johnson on the Vision Forum table and quickly bought it. The results, in just a few days, have been wonderful. We have discovered that Gabriel, our 4 year old, responds to question/answer type study. Last night I asked the children what was book of the Bible that we have been reading from? “Matthew!” yelled Gabe; and all of our mouths dropped open. “And who speaks in Matthew?” I asked, “Jesus!”, he responded.
We have started to memorize the catechism for children in the back of the book, i.e. “Who made you?”, answer: “God.” “What else did God make?”, answer: “God made all things.” Last night as I laid Gabe down and turned out the lights, he asked me a question.
“Daddy, do you know what?”
“No Gabe, what?”
A little boy’s voice from the darkness said simply, “God made all things for his own glory.”
I could feel tears welling up in my eyes and my voice shook as I said “Yes, son he certainly did.”
God bless you Doug and to God be the glory, he has and is working a great ministry through Vision Forum.
