Remembering the Titanic

More than 100,000 people rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery on a bucolic 78-acre hill overlooking the Schuylkill River in the East Falls section of Philadelphia. But on Saturday afternoon, a group of visitors will be visiting several gravesites that inter no one at all. They’ll be taking part in the cemetery’s third annual walking tour commemorating one of history’s most famous disasters — the sinking of RMS Titanic, which struck an iceberg 95 years ago tomorrow and sank on April 15, 1912, taking more than 1,500 passengers and crew to the bottom of the frigid North Atlantic.
