The Mayflower Pilgrims set aside a day to honor the Lord with thanksgiving and feasting. On that day they enjoyed martial drills and shooting competitions. Our Thanksgiving festival tradition includes that spear throwing competition. We normally use a boar spear, and a spear made from our favorite knife produced by the Cold Steel company.
