Dear Friends:
Let’s remember to pray for one another. We all really need it. Here is a beautiful letter from a dear sister who wrote In response to the blog post: “Are You Resting In All You Know To be True From the Bible?”
Dear Doug,
I can’t thank you enough for this post.
I am really struggling and have been for the last 14 years since I was saved. I am married to an unbeliever who is a college professor and evolutionist. Lately, I been feeling that the Lord has forgotten me. My lifeline is sermons from Behemoth.
Every single day is a struggle to me to press onward because the battle is in my home and I can’t get away from it. I know I have been called to be my husband’s helpmeet and I try to do that faithfully as I can, learning to have the gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to our Lord. ...With all that’s going on in the world, and in my home, I have to constantly be reminded that God is still on the throne despite my circumstances and that nothing gets past Him.
Bless you and your family.
Dear Sister:
You will never be forgotten. Not for one second. Nor will His love for you cease.
Heaven and earth may pass away, but the Lord will remain true to His word which promises that if you are a child of God, you will forever rest secure in His loving hands.
The big problem that you and I and the rest of the world suffer from is being tossed to and fro by emotionally driven doubts. It is the tendency of men to trust feelings of despair, and even loneliness, more than to trust the permanency of truth that will never, ever change. Rest in what you know to be true. God’s word is true. His love for you is true. And faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
None of us know the specifics of God’s unfolding plans, but I suspect that someday your perseverance in times of doubt, and your willingness to truly rest in what you know to be true in God’s Word, will pay off wonderfully. In the meantime, may God give you grace, peace, and perseverance. Most of all, never forget that there is never a moment when you are not precious to Him.
