Ken Ham and Doug Phillips Meet With Ben Stein and Producers of New Film Expelled

Ben Stein is a very funny man. And he is a man with an opinion.

His opinion is this: The Darwinists running academia are intolerant elitists who are lying to America about the Theory of Evolution. Some of them are bigots——scoffers in laboratory jackets who mock, revile and minimize all opposition that would suggest that a supernatural creator designed the universe.

He’s right! And this is the message of his new film Expelled.

After a meeting in New Orleans last month I had the opportunity to view a screening of Expelled, and to visit with the producers of this fascinating new film. Several days later I joined Ken Ham, president of Answers In Genesis, for a meeting with the producers of Expelled, and with the film’s star, Mr. Stein. I will be offering more thoughts on the film and the current debate over Creationism, Intelligent Design Theory, and Evolution on this blog shortly.

Above, Ben, Ken and myself take a moment to discuss the virtues of Leica photography.

Concentration Camp Doctor Aribert Heim Tops List of Most Wanted Nazis

For more than forty years, the Creation movement has been highlighting the connection between the scientific philosophy of Evolutionism and eugenics, immoral human experimentation and Nazism. (See our Back to Genesis conference album). This connection has recently been highlighted in the film Expelled, currently in theaters. Today, Foxnews.com is reporting that one of the most notorious butchers in Nazis Germany may still be alive: SS “doctor” Aribert Heim. The murders and experiments on humans allegedly performed by Heim are incomprehensibly diabolical, and highlight the logical conclusion of merging evolutionary doctrine with social theory.

Heim would be 93 today and “we have good reason to believe he is still alive,” said Efraim Zuroff, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s top Nazi hunter. He spoke in a telephone interview from Jerusalem before the center plans to release a most-wanted list Wednesday, and to open a media campaign in South America this summer highlighting the $485,000 reward for Heim’s arrest posted by the center along with Germany and Austria.

According to an advance copy of the list obtained by the AP, the most wanted, after Heim, are: John Demjanjuk, fighting deportation from the U.S., which says he was a guard at several death and forced labor camps; Sandor Kepiro, a Hungarian accused of involvement in the wartime killings of more than 1,000 civilians in Serbia; Milivoj Asner, a wartime Croatian police chief now living in Austria and suspected of an active role in deporting hundreds of Serbs, Jews, and Gypsies to their deaths; and Soeren Kam, a former member of the SS wanted by Denmark for the assassination of a journalist in 1943. His extradition from Germany was blocked in 2007 by a Bavarian court that found insufficient evidence for murder charges.

The hunt for Heim has taken investigators from the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg all around the world. Besides his home country of Austria and neighboring Germany where he settled after the war, tips have come from Uruguay in 1998, Spain, Switzerland and Chile in 2005, and Brazil in 2006, said Heinz Heister, presiding judge of the Baden-Baden state court, where Heim was indicted in absentia on hundreds of counts of murder in 1979.

Joe Farah on The Texas CPS Seizure of 400 Children

Joe Farah of worldnetdaily.com has written a great article raising some serious questions in light of the raid by Texas CPS officials on the LDS compound in San Angelo, Texas.

We’re going on three weeks since the Texas Rangers raided the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Texas on the pretext of child abuse, polygamy, physical violence and rape.

So far, though, even though more than 400 children were seized from parents, precious little evidence of the crimes has been made public.

Now suppose this raid had not been on a compound of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but instead on your average public school.

I read the news. I know the statistics. The chances are very good there would be more evidence of child sexual abuse in government schools than has been produced at the Yearning for Zion Ranch.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t approve of this cult. I don’t approve of polygamy. I don’t approve of child brides. But I also believe in the rule of law.

An investigation of the compound had been under way for four years. A confidential informant, a former member of the sect, was providing authorities with details of activities. And this is all they have?

The raid itself was prompted by an anonymous call from someone identifying herself as a 16-year-old girl who was being held against her will and claimed to have been raped and abused by a 50-year-old registered sex offender named Dale Barlow. Yet, he is on probation in Arizona for a 2007 conviction for marrying and impregnating another 16-year-old girl. And the caller turns out to be Rozita Swinton, apparently a Barack Obama superdelegate who lives in El Paso.

So, the chief suspect was known, in advance, not to be in the ranch compound. And the tipster is someone with a history of making false police charges and supporting really unworthy presidential candidates....

Again, I am forced to raise some key questions about this case:

Is there a community in America where child abuse is not taking place?

Don’t we normally arrest individual suspects and try them for their crimes?

Do we normally and pre-emptively round up all the children in a community where it is suspected abuse is taking place without specific evidence?

When a government schoolteacher is arrested for abusing one student, are all the students in that school assumed to be victims?

And why aren’t all the usual, dependable advocates of tolerance, diversity and alternative lifestyles actively protesting the disruption of life within a peaceful community based on society’s imposition of its own sense of morality?

Is the secular state really better at determining what’s best for the children of the YFZ Ranch than are the parents of those children?

According to the experts, 62 percent of girls are sexually abused by the age of 18 - outside the YFZ Ranch.

According to the experts, 31 percent of boys are sexually abused by the age of 18 - outside the YFZ Ranch.

According to the experts, most rape victims are under 12 years old - outside the YFZ Ranch.

Do I want to see children raised in polygamist cults? No.

But neither do I want to see children abused at the hands of the state - which, I hate to say, happens every single day throughout America. It happens in government-run schools. It happens under the watchful eye of government-supervised foster care programs. It happens at the hands of the government-funded Planned Parenthood, which covers up the sexual abuse of children by adults and victimizes those children a second time by performing abortions on them. It happens when states willingly and knowingly adopt out innocent young children to same-sex couples. It happens when officials in states such as California actively try to ban homeschooling.

Jonathan Park Quote

[Dear Vision Forum], My siblings and I have been very interested as well as many of our friends in your ministry. We decided that since we are daily meeting up with neighbors who have an evolutionary mindset, that we would start our own Creation Response Team! We are so excited about what God will do to reveal himself to these people who understand so little. Please Praya that God would lead us through your materials and that we would be able to answer wisely to difficult questions. We are presently working on memorizing the 4 questions from your episode "A cry from Cyberspace" and I am writing a book called "Darwin’s War agains’t God." Thank you for all the great things you sell and for the devotionals and other materials you supply to help us know what we’re talking about! We hope to have a newsletter and maybe make a few documentary type films. Thanks Again — A Jonathan Park Fan

Vision Forum Enjoys a Surprise Visit from the President of the United States

We were delighted to have a surprise visit from President Teddy Roosevelt last week, as part of his whistlestop tour celebrating the 150th anniversary of his birthday. The president was kind enough to join us for an evening gathering during which time he shared his life story and entertained questions. It was a most impressive presentation from our Christian friends at www.teddyrooseveltshow.com.

The Constitution Party Selects Chuck Baldwin as Presidential Candidiate

Pastor, home education advocate, syndicated columnist, and radio talk show host Chuck Baldwin was selected by the Constitution Party this last week as nominee for President of the United States. The Constitution Party, founded by my father Howard Phillips, selected Chuck Baldwin over former Ambassador Allan Keyes by a 3-1 majority. Baldwin received 383.8 votes, ahead of Alan Keyes, who drew 125.7 votes from delegates. The nomination of Chuck Baldwin means that Christians have the option of voting for a biblically qualified, God-fearing, Constitutionally informed and committed candidate for President. It also means that Baldwin will be the only political nominee for President of the United States from a national party to hold to a biblical and constitutional view of the defense of the life of the unborn, of the defense of marriage, of the right to arms, of national sovereignty, etc. It is expected that Baldwin will have ballot access in most of the fifty states.

Puritan Family Reformation Event

(To view this video clip, you must have QuickTime 7 installed.)

J.I. Packer has said that the Puritans were the godliest generation since the first century church, for something amazing happened in the Puritan era. But when that generation passed from the scene, something of great importance was quickly lost from the consciousness of the church — the biblical doctrine of the family. Now, we believe it is time to study it and recover it and expand upon it and move forward for the glory of God.

We need a reformation of biblical family life, and there will be no reformation without setting the doctrinal foundation and having the courage for a radical turning.

This conference is designed to help us make progress in turning to a biblical vision for family life.

A Conversation With Two Thoughtful Young Ladies

Some of my favorite conversations are with babes in the Lord.

It is out of the mouth of babes that the most profound truths and insights emerge.

That is the benefit of being pure at heart.

These two young ladies came up to me after the Vision Forum Ministries Father and Daughter Retreat to ask me about multi-generational playthings. They told me that they were beginning to look for and save special toys and precious items to give someday to their children and grandchildren. They wanted to know if I did the same, and what toys were the best to save to give to future generations. I told them about a set of soldiers that I had from childhood, which are now favorites of my younger sons. I also told them stories about how my little boys climb onto my chair and on my back when I am in my home office and place the soldiers all over Daddy and his desk, and what a joy that is for Daddy.

They responded with sincere interest, and thanked me for “helping them think multi-generationally.” I responded by letting them know that they, not I, had been the true instructor.

The Return of the American Family: A Testimony from the 2008 Father and Daughter Retreat

Dear Mr. Phillips:

I am writing to commend you on the recent father-daughter conference at Callaway Gardens. Although I was not in attendance, I did observe a dramatic scene on Friday night from the vantage point of the Inn restaurant. One by one, those dining began to take note of the fathers and daughters walking by. Even the waitresses began to smile and walk over to the windows to watch. It was an inspiring and dramatic moment to sense their renewed belief that hope in the American family was not dead. To explain what good is accomplished by this conference, no words would be needed if one could only have seen what happened in the restaurant that evening.

May God continue to bless your ministry, Jackson C. , Esq.

A Top Rate Solution for the Medical Needs of Christian Families: Samaritan Ministries International

The work of family reformation requires an important division of labor within the body of Christ. We need preachers, writers, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and many more, who are willing to fight for the family, challenge the humanistic conventional wisdom of the day, and provide practical solutions for families. Of the numerous practical issues which Christian families concerned about strategic planning must address, medical needs ranks high on the list. And to my way of thinking, no organization does a better job of providing real solutions for Christian families hoping to make wise medical decisions than Samaritan Ministries International.

We are not only proud to work with Samaritan for the medical needs sharing of our staff, but to have them partner with us in ministry and as an ongoing premier sponsor of the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. If you are a regular reader to my blog you may remember that I have highlighted the work of Samaritan Ministries International in the past, and I want to commend them to you once again.

What Is Samaritan Ministries?

The highly professional executive team at Samaritan Ministries is made up of deeply committed Christian professionals (some are personal friends of mine) who understand that it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. And the candle they have lit is burning bright.

Samaritan Ministries is not an insurance company. Samaritan seeks to meet the needs of the saints through Christians helping Christians. For more than a decade, Samaritan Ministries has been the “shared medical assistance program” of choice for thousands of families. Their track record of support and satisfied members is simply superior. This is a medical assistance provider that is run on Christian principles, by Christians, for Christians. More than just an outstanding alternative to the overwhelming costs of insurance programs, Samaritan Ministries is a means of strengthening individual families and the body of Christ through a program of personal responsibility, prayer support, and shared financial needs. The benefits of being a member of Samaritan are strong, and the cost is extremely reasonable. In fact, Samaritan families pay a fraction of the typical costs to insure a family through an insurance provider.

Do Yourself a Favor — Investigate This God-Blessed Option

The mission of Vision Forum is to encourage the rebuilding of the Christian family. Samaritan Ministries makes my life, and the life of the families at Vision Forum, easier by standing beside us (and we beside them) in the advancement of this mission for the glory of God. They bless us by helping families with healthcare needs, by modeling a godly vision of Christians helping Christians, and by providing cost-effective, excellent alternatives to the exorbitant expense of modern healthcare.

With gratitude to the Lord for the executive team and the faithful families who have wisely and successfully managed Samaritan Ministries for more than a decade, I want to invite you to learn more about them at SamaritanMinistries.org. Moreover, as a satisfied member of Samaritan Ministries and a Christian brother who is deeply grateful to them for their principled efforts to work within the body of Christ to provide crucial financial medical assistance, I am pleased to wholeheartedly recommend this Christ-proclaiming, family-defending ministry to my brothers and sisters in Christ. There is no doubt in my mind that God has raised Samaritan Ministries up for such a time as this.

I use Samaritan Ministries, our staff uses Samaritan Ministries, and it works. Christians helping Christians with their needs — a biblical solution: Samaritan Ministries.org.

College Plus: A Helpful Option in Higher Education

The greatest leaders of our nation’s history all benefited from an individualized approach to education. By far one of the most influential mentors of our nations past was John Witherspoon, who mentored literally hundreds of men, many of whom became the Founders of our nation.

Sadly, this customized, mentor-driven education has been forsaken across most of the college campuses in our nation. Instead we resort to feeding students an unhealthy diet consisting of book knowledge alone. While scholastic achievement is important, an emphasis on direct learning from wise mentors is of even greater importance.

The Traditional College Method is Not Your Only Option

CollegePlus! is one of those organizations I’ve highly commended to you before as a qualified and cost-effective alternative to the traditional college route. CollegePlus! seeks to assist today’s families towards reinstating this proven form of education that beautifully complements the methods you already employ regularly as you homeschool your children.

 • Mentor Directed Education
 • Christian Worldview
 • Study From Home
 • Combine High School and College
 • Earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Two Years

Earn Your Degree by Age 18

Now, many homeschool students are combining college with high school and are graduating with their bachelor’s degree by the time they turn 18. The best part of CollegePlus! is that it works directly with homeschooling. It’s not tied down to a semester schedule, which means you will have total flexibility and can start at any time.

Special Limited Offer

Charlton Heston RIP: "There Was a Man"

He was married for sixty-four years to the same woman, attended church on a regular basis, defended the rights of gun owners, and acted beside his son (then a baby) in the most famous Bible epoch of all time. His name was Charlton Heston, and he was certainly a Hollywood anomaly. The man who played Moses and Ben Hur died this past Saturday.

In their obituary of Charlton Heston, The Washington Post declared: “Hate his politics or love them, you have to say: There was a man.”

According to his official bio on IMDb Heston was

Renowned for playing a long list of historical figures, particularly in Biblical epics, the tall, well built and ruggedly handsome Charlton Heston is one of Hollywood’s greatest leading men and remained active in front of movie cameras for over sixty years.

Heston was born John Charles Carter on October 4th 1924 in Evanston, Illinois, and made his feature film debut as the lead character in a 16mm production of Peer Gynt (1941), based on the Henrik Ibsen play. Shortly thereafter, he played ‘Marc Antony’ in Julius Caesar (1950), however Heston firmly stamped himself as genuine leading man material with his performance as circus manager ‘Brad Braden’ in the Cecil B. DeMille spectacular The Greatest Show on Earth (1952), also starring James Stewart and Cornel Wilde.

The now very popular actor remained perpetually busy during the 1950s, both on TV and on the silver screen with audience pleasing performances in the steamy thriller The Naked Jungle (1954), as a treasure hunter in Secret of the Incas (1954) and another barn storming performance for Cecil B. DeMille as “Moses” in the blockbuster The Ten Commandments (1956). Heston delivered further dynamic performances in the oily film noir thriller Touch of Evil (1958), and then alongside Gregory Peck in the western The Big Country (1958) before scoring the role for which he is arguably best known, that of the wronged Jewish prince who seeks his freedom and revenge in the William Wyler directed Ben-Hur (1959). This mammoth Biblical epic running in excess of three and a half hours became the standard by which other large scale productions would be judged, and it’s superb cast also including Stephen Boyd as the villainous “Massala”, English actor Jack Hawkins as the Roman officer “Quintus Arrius”, and Australian actor Frank Thring as “Pontius Pilate”, all contributed wonderful performances.

Heston had been married to his wife Lydia Marie Clark Heston since March 1944, which produced two children and three grandchildren. In 2002, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and had not appeared in a film or TV production since 2003.

The New York Times has a good obituary and overview of his many accomplishments.

Howard Phillips Praises the U.S. Supreme Court Decision Repudiating International Law

My father has recently written about the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision Medellin v. Texas in which the the court ruled 6-3 that Texas is not bound by the International Court of Justice (often known as the World Court). The Bush Administration wanted Texas to submit to the World Court and reopen a death penalty conviction of Ernesto Medellin.

The World Court had demanded, under the provisions of the Vienna Convention, that the Texas courts reopen the death penalty conviction of Ernesto Medellin. Medellin was found guilty of the rape and murder of two teenage girls. However, he is a Mexican citizen, and under the Vienna Convention should have been told of his right to contact the Mexican consulate. No such notice was given, and the World Court considered this reason to consider overturning the conviction and setting Medellin free.

Thankfully, Chief Justice Roberts rejected President Bush’s challenge and reaffirmed that America is bound by the U.S. Constitution and not “International law.”

The majority decision, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, insisted that although the United States was, at the time, a party to that provision of the Vienna Convention (the U.S. has since withdrawn), Congress has never provided any statutory mechanism for enforcement. Only Congress, having all legislative power at the national level, can make a treaty the “supreme law of the land” (Article VI, paragraph 2 of the Constitution).

Letter from a Family With a Vision for A Weekly Family History Night

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you...for hosting the 200 Year Plan conference. We are inspired. My Bride and I have talked of nothing else, making plans and clarifying the vision for our family. We have already implemented the Family Table and I have to tell you it has been such a blessing to all of us. My lovely daughter (a maiden of virtue) and her Mother have really enjoyed making the meals and it has been such a blessing having the time to talk, laugh and learn from God’s Word. We have adopted as our slogan:

(Philippians 3:13) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, (Philippians 3:14) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We have truly put the past behind and are pressing toward the prize. We have declared Thursday nights to be “Cook Family History Night” where the ladies go through our family pictures back to 1985 and the guys convert the old family videos to DVD.

Thank you again for this inspiring conference, we are motivated to take our family vision to the next level, with our eyes on 8 future generations taking our world captive for Jesus Christ.

God Bless you and Geoff and your families and all of the staff at Vision Forum. We continue to pray for this highly effective ministry for Christ.

Persevero!!! In Christ Alone, M. Cook.

Bound For Glory: A Handbook for Raising Victorious Families

I want to recommend to my readers that they quickly purchase a copy of R.C. Sproul Jr.’s important new book Bound for Glory: A Practical Handbook for Training Victorious Families. R.C. is more than the son of the most notable Presbyterian teacher in the world, he is one of the most passionate spokesmen and leaders in the the movement for Christian family revival. I have known R.C. for some time and remain impressed by his sincerity, his passion, and the principled stands he has been willing to take. Thousands of families have been blessed through his ministry, and now he is sharing his wisdom in this important new volume.

Bound for Glory begins with a conversation between father and son, R.C. Sproul, Senior and Junior, about the importance of leading families in a covenantal relationship with God. R.C. Sproul Jr. then discusses the implications of this covenantal relationship for husbands, wives, children, and the church family. He speaks especially to men as the leaders in their households, encouraging them to make God’s Work known to their families, to help their wives and children grow in godliness, and to take responsibility for the testimony of their family to others. The book ends with another conversation between father and son about the benefits of homeschooling and the role that parents should play in their child’s education. Bound for Glory will help you and your family be bound together as a covenantal family for the glory of God. This would make a good dinner-time or family devotional read-aloud book.

A Letter From a Future Father: A Personal Report on the 200 Year Plan: A Practicum on Multi-Generational Faithfulness

Dear Mr. Phillips,

I was so thankful that I was able to be at the 200 Year Plan conference! It was a really inspiring time. I benefitted greatly from the messages that were shared by Mr. Botkin and yourself. There were literally hundreds of important ideas shared at the conference. Some were new, some were familiar but so worth reiterating and refining. Among many things, I loved seeing how different messages tied together. A few items in particular stood out to me as I left the conference:

 1. The family vision is two pronged, and the full potential of vision is lost or compromised when we miss this. First, the act of Biblical family discipleship, with all that it entails, is essential, commanded by God, and an act of joyful covenant-keeping in itself. Second, this Christ-honoring-in-itself act also is a tool for every other component of cultural reformation.

 2. The message of the importance of strategic relationships fit so wonderfully with the idea of the 200 Year Plan, and Godly planning in general. Christians need to plan strategically, and when this is done it fosters the most fruitful strategic relationships as Christian patriarchs and their families identify other patriarchs and families who share their vision, network together, and advance the Kingdom with increasing effectiveness. Making strategic connections was a major component of what I was desiring to do when I came to the conference, so the discussion of these topics was very timely for me.

 3. The discussion of the crossroads that the homeschool movement is at was so timely, and it needed to be said, in my opinion. I am glad you did. I believe that the situation is akin to that with creation apologetics and intelligent design: the church is at a crossroads and must choose between presuppositionally Biblical science and an easier, less controversial, “big tent” approach that is content to have an unnamed designer. In like manner, the homeschool movement must decide whether it will work to advance a specifcally Biblical vision, or take a “big tent” approach that is now comfortable and uncontroversial - and lose the covenantal vision.

 4. And maybe most basically, I think the need for a long-term vision for the family - not just your children, or even just your grandchildren, but even beyond - is simply wonderful. That is the Isaiah 58:12 vision!

I also left the conference with many ideas about my own multi-generational vision. As I continue in law school, I really desire to develop Christian legal scholarship and use scholarship to claim for Christ the underlying ideas and philosophies in the legal community. But I also have a vision to be a Godly patriarch, so I was challenged by the conference to think anew of how this personal vision for legal scholarship to the glory of God fits into congruent package with my broader vision for my children (and their children, and their children’s children, etc, etc!).

Finally, besides the specific ideas shared at the conference, I so appreciated what the conference facilitated. It was a wonderful time for connecting with like-minded men - seeing long-time friends as well as making new connections. Times of fellowship like that are not things that I take for granted!... Thank you for your vision, thank you for your work. Your messages and the work of Vision Forum have been so important to me, starting probably about seven years ago when I was thirteen or fourteen, and I continue to thank the Lord for you.

For the Biblical family, L. W.

A Note of Gratitude: No Longer Planning for Defeat

“Please convey...my gratitude for being invited to take part in this tremendous opportunity to change western culture and ultimately the entire world by developing a Christian vision of victory and dominion. While I knew that God desired us to be at this conference, it was not until tonight that I realized the full extent of “why.” I have long felt that my family was my most important ministry, but I had no idea that God had a much greater and more powerful plan for my family than I had ever anticipated or imagined. My fears and discouragement have severely limited the impact my family has been able to have on our culture, and now God has shown me the tremendous potential that generational faithfulness has for change and victory. I was leading my family with a survivalist mindset, having lost all hope for changing the tides of God’s judgment on our sinful culture. I realize now that no matter what the outcome in America, we are to advance towards victory...not to plan for defeat.”

The Changing Family Demographics of Europe

One of the biggest stories of the 21st century concerns family demographics. The fact is that population is on the decline and mainstream Christians are leading the way.

Many professing Christians have joined the pagan world in embracing the anti-life birth control ethic of the worst philosophical movements of the 20th century. Two groups have resisted the anti-child trends. The first group is Christian home educators. (Of the 500 in attendance at the 200 Year Plan, the average family size was in excess of 7 children per family!) Muslims make up the second group with an open mind towards large families.

At the 200 Year Plan: A Practicum on Multi-Generational Faithfulness, I shared a message entitled “Seven Secrets of Successful Multi-Generational Visionaries.” There I explained the exponential numerical significance and potential generational impact of families teaching their children to love and desire a fruitful womb.

Now a story out of London is reporting that the birth rates of Muslims is going to outnumber the Roman Catholic churchgoers in just twelve years: “Based on a study by Christian Research, mosque-going Muslims in England and Wales would reach 683,000 by 2020, outnumbering Catholic churchgoers who would number 679,000 by that time. It also cites that over the same period the number of Muslims at mosques will overtake Church of England members at Sunday services.”

Seven Prayers for Multi-Generational Faithfulness

My beloved son Justice with me at the 200 Year Plan conference. My beloved son Justice with me at the 200 Year Plan conference.

Prayer #1: That the Lord would save the souls of all of our children early in life, and that none would be lost.

Prayer #2: That our children would be faithful covenant-keepers with the God of their fathers.

Prayer #3: That God would send blessed, well-suited, Christ-loving spouses to our progeny, and that there would be no divorce for 200 years.

Prayer #4: That our children would continue to home educate their own children, following the Biblical/Hebrew model for discipleship.

Prayer #5: That God would bless the wombs of our daughters and daughters-in-law, with a multitude of covenant-keeping children, who will be mighty in the land.

Prayer #6: That God would bless and make fruitful the dominion labors of the family in all of its generations.

Prayer #7: That our children will honor their fathers and mothers, and be faithful to the godly and applicable visions their fathers give to them.

Dialogue on the 128 Psalm

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.

Why Family Revival and Discipleship Is A Critical Tool in God-Blessed Evangelism

Unrighteousness is always the result of ungodliness, and the only hope of getting back any measure of righteousness into life is to have a revival of godliness. That is precisely what the apostle is saying to the Ephesians and to ourselves. The best and the most moral periods in the history of this country, and every other country, have always been those periods which have followed mighty religious awakenings. This problem of lawlessness and lack of discipline, the problem of children and of youth, was just not present 50 years ago as it is today. Why? Because the great tradition of the Evangelical Awakening of the 18th century was still operating. But as that has gone, these terrible moral and social problems are coming back, as the apostle teaches us, and as they have always come back throughout the running centuries.

Present conditions therefore demand that we should look at the apostle’s statement. I believe that Christian parents and children, Christian families, have a unique opportunity of witnessing to the world at this present time by just being different. We can be true evangelists by showing this discipline, this law and order, this true relationship between parents and children. We may be the means under God’s hand of bringing many to a knowledge of the Truth. Let us therefore think of it in that way.
