Well, I have received scores of recommendations for the blog title of last week’s image of Virginia. After some consideration, we have selected a winner.
Some thought that because she was winking, that Virginia had aspirations for running for Vice President. If that is true, she has said nothing to Beall or me about such aspirations. A number of recommendations included comments about haggis, like this one: “Och, not this, mon! Bring this lass some HAGGIS!!” One person offered the very clever comment: “Virginia Ham.” There were a few pirate themed comments like “ahoy there matey pass me lassie a jug of yer finest grog to wash down this feast,” and “Portrait of Pirate Princess,” and even a few of culinary comments like “Delicate texture. Surprising Flavor.”
We laughed when we read the recommended title, “This Monstrous Regiment of Humanists Will Be Torn Asunder Like My Pizza! - Now Where’s My Cupbearer?!!!” One person offered: “Oooohhhh yah! pasta and my favorite blankie....life is good!” Another theme of the blog titles were movie and cartoon characters including “Go ahead, make my day!” and
“Ooooh, you wascawy wabbit! I don’t wike pictuhs while I’m twin’ to eat!,” and “The Good, The Bad and the Hungry.”
My personal favorite came from this last category because the author of the comment nailed what I was thinking when I took the shot. And the winner is....
“I’m strong to the finish, ‘cause I eats me... [pizza].”
Congratulations to our winner who will be receiving a complete set of our new CD series—How the Scots Saved Christendom: Tales of Bravehearts and Covenanters. Thanks also to another blog friend who sent in this great image which pretty much says it all.
