The Mysterious Islands is the first film to recreate the great debate of 1860 between Huxley and Wilberforce. The debate was interrupted by Admiral Robert Fitzroy, former traveling companion of Charles Darwin and captain of the Beagle. Fitzroy’s message—“Believe God rather than man!”
