My time as a Vision Forum intern has been a tremendous blessing to me. Learning from the godly men at Vision Forum has been life changing. The instruction I have been given, and the example that the men set forth, strengthened my desire to serve the Lord in everything I do. Dear Friends: This year, many of the last living survivors of the greatest amphibious invasion in history will return to Normandy for the final time. As they return, Vision Forum Ministries’ camera team will be there. Our team of Christian historians will be there as well, together with families who want to honor our World War II veterans with a “Final Farewell” celebration — all part of a significant effort to produce a virtual tour and study course from Normandy about the Battle of D-Day. This study course is perhaps the very first of its kind that is specifically designed to give a providential Christian perspective on the men and events that were used by God in June of 1944 to change the course of the 20th century.

Vision Forum believes that the sanctity of the family must be protected and preserved against those who would violate it. We must oppose those who would abuse our wives and children. Recently, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) declared war on moral decency by mandating invasive new screening procedures at our nation’s airports. These procedures involve violating innocent men, women, and children by taking near-nude images of travelers through full-body scanners which also pose potential health risks to those irradiated by them.

Several months ago, I discovered that my dear daughter Liberty had been secretly working with her mother on a surprise for me. Knowing her father’s passion for history and desire to cultivate a culture of honor, Liberty’s hope was to meet Frank Buckles, World War I’s last living American doughboy, to interview him, and to share his story with others.

It is the end of an era. After this year, few if any men of D-Day will be returning to Normandy. But for one last moment in time, handfuls of our heroic fathers will return and Vision Forum Ministries will be giving them “A Final Farewell.” This is the story of one of the men returning with us.
